All the information you need to know about the insulation grant that the UK are offering in September. Eco Spray Foam Systems can provide you with what you need to know about the UK insulation grant for home insulation.
If you are not already aware, the UK has planned an insulation grant for homeowners to receive funding to insulate their homes from September 2020 called the Green Homes Grant. This scheme is part of a strategy to make UK homes more sustainable and to help the everyday homeowner save money on their energy bills. This government initiative sees the UK injecting £2 billion in aid to homes across the UK.
The UK insulation grant will provide up to £5,000 to sustainably insulate your home and up to £10,000 for low-income households to insulate their homes. The UK government plans for sustainable home improvements in September 2020 via home insulation that will help homeowners save money and utilise energy efficiency. Households that are not deemed as low-income can receive up to 2/3s in the form of a voucher to subsidise the new home insulation and for low-income households they can receive vouchers covering 100%.
We will be providing the latest information over the insulation grant offered by the UK government this September. The home insulation grant will currently cover green home improvements ranging from wall insulation, floor and roof insulation and low-carbon heating to heat pumps or solar thermal. These measures can help families save up to £600 a year on energy bills and reduce their carbon footprints annually.
UPDATE: The Green Homes Grant will provide homeowners vouchers to install one or more of the following: solid wall, cavity wall, underfloor or roof insulation, solar thermal and air source or ground source heat pump. Additionally, vouchers can be used for other energy-saving measures such as: double or triple glazing/secondary glazing, upgrades to energy efficient doors, hot water tank/appliance tank and/or thermostat/heating controls.
The process in order to receive the insulation grant includes a survey from a retrofit assessor, at which point they will be able to advise the homeowners on what energy efficiency improvements can be made on the property.
Only approved installers that have gone through an extensive vetting process are able to complete the work. This provides homeowners with peace of mind that the home insulations that are being carried out are provided by the top and professional companies, with all relevant certifications.
Tradespeople must register for TrustMark or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation in order to be providers of the home insulations subsidised by the government.
